Expeditions are an option in 60 Seconds!, 60 Parsecs!, and 60 Seconds! Reatomized that allows a character to hunt for extra resources and goods in the wasteland (or in a location on a planet in the case of 60 Parsecs!).
In 60 Seconds! or 60 Seconds! Reatomized![]
An expedition can be prepared on one day, and the player can choose a person to leave the bunker the next. The person chosen to find supplies is given a choice of one item to bring on the journey, although this changes to four if the suitcase is chosen (technically three, as the suitcase takes up a slot). Prior to the What's in the Suitcase? DLC/Update a family member would automatically bring the gas mask on an expedition (needs confirmation), using it to prevent radiation sickness. However, the gas mask may break, causing the gas mask to stop functioning until the player either gets a new gas mask or it gets repaired by certain events (ex: Mary Jane and Dolores could fix the gas mask in an event where Dolores wants to "shelterschool" Mary Jane after finding out that she can't spell antidisestablishmentarianism).
Certain conditions influence scavenging, like being sick, crazy, hurt, hungry, or thirsty. Characters have a lower chance to return to the shelter if they have those effects. A common misconception is that characters like Timmy are better at scavenging than others, but everyone in the shelter has the same chances of finding certain items or how and when they will come back.
Finding usable items (like a map for example) is not possible when you already have a working one. And the part of the Search event where you would normally find that item, won't happen.
Scavenging frequently can get your neighborhood taken over by raiders/bandits around 20-30 days after the player gets the text that says someone might have followed you after an expedition.
A helpful trick in scavenging is that when you prepare to scavenge, and the next day, if there is no event at the end, you can send someone out to scavenge, and avoid attacks from raiders and/or other inconveniences.
Also, the state of the town will influence if the scavenger returns (percents are approximations, which is totally different in the new DLC):
When the town is radioactive, the chances of the scavenger coming back (and whether or not they are sick when they return) are heavily influenced by the gas mask.
With the gas mask (recommended):
- Come back fine: 70%.
- Come back sick: 20%.
- Not come back at all (rare): 10%.
Without the gas mask:
- Come back sick: 70%.
- Not come back at all: 20%.
- Come back fine: 10%.
If the scavenger is already sick:
- Come back sick: 76%.
- Not come back at all: 24% (needs confirmation).
If the radio tells the player that radioactivity levels have dropped, it highly reduces coming back sick or not coming back from sickness.
However:
- Raiders coming to your door to attack will start occurring.
- Raiders can capture your people whenever anyone leaves the shelter (except mutant Mary Jane), and they could sometimes capture a family member in the shelter if the player fails to defend it.
- The scavenging events may also change (needs confirmation).
Expedition Preparation Screen[]
The game will inform the player of conditions outside, and how characters are feeling and if they are able to go on the expedition. There are three outside conditions of the wasteland throughout survival and each one affects gameplay in different ways.
Radioactive:[]
At the beginning of Survival, the preparation screen will show a warning. A scavenging trip is possible, but the gas mask is highly recommended due to the danger of becoming Sick. They will continue to appear until about day 20, but they can be changed much sooner between days 7-20 if one has a radio (it will notify the player that the contamination outside dissipated, thus making the gas mask not necessarily a priority).
- "The contamination of our town is still strong. Scavenging in these conditions may result in radiation sickness."
- "Our neighborhood is still highly radioactive. Trips to the surface are a big risk right now."
- "It looks like the area is still irradiated. Going to the wasteland right now is unsafe, unless you don't mind getting sick."
Neutral:[]
These warnings are the majority of the gameplay. They tell the player that an expedition is the safest possible. A Gas mask is no longer required to venture outside; however, there is still a chance of the expedition failing. This warning will continue until the next one is triggered.
In-game, after an expedition is successful, one may see a warning that the expedition was followed by strangers. Once this warning pops up for the first time, a countdown of about 20 days will initiate, where a bandit warning will appear on the expeditions page.
- "We're not certain about the conditions on the surface. A trip may be risky, but we could really use the supplies.
- "It seems awfully quiet outside. Maybe it's safe. Maybe it's not. We won't know until we go out."
- "The state of the wasteland remains unknown to us. Maybe we should risk it and go out? After all, you only live once."
Bandit warning:[]
The final set of expedition warnings are of bandit activity above the shelter. This warning carries an extremely high risk of the expedition failing, but it also means the beginning of the endgame bandit events occurring every three days, attacking the shelter. This warning is triggered when the family sends too many expeditions out one after the other.
- "We're almost certain there are bandits around. Running into them would be a big mistake."
- "We've heard some commotion outside and we're pretty sure it's a band of raiders. Venturing outside might be quite dangerous right now."
- "Judging by the sound of gunfire and screams, it seems like a band of thugs has taken control of the area. Going out could be very risky."
Character Stats:[]
As said above, the characters have a higher chance to die during an expedition if they are sick, injured, or crazy.
But these are not the only conditions that determine if the expedition goes well, the character must also be in good shape. This can be seen on the same page as the outside conditions, near the character's face.
Ted:[]
- "Ted seems to be in really good shape for a trip" (best).
- "Ted is happy to risk his life in the wasteland."
- "Ted is vigorous enough to withstand the hazards of the wasteland."
- "Ted might be able to survive an expedition."
- "Despite his need for a nap, Ted could try his best on the surface."
- "Ted's condition is not the best, but we could take the risk" (worst).
- "Ted is too weak for any expedition at the moment" (tired).
- "Ted is in no condition to go outside" (tired).
Dolores:[]
- "Dolores is in pretty good shape" (best).
- "Dolores is confident she will survive outside."
- "We can send Dolores for an expedition."
- "Dolores might be fit enough to scavenge outside."
- "Dolores says she can handle herself, but we're not sure."
- "Dolores says she's fine, but we're not sure" (worst).
- "Sending Dolores out is a death sentence" (tired).
- "Dolores is too exhausted to go outside" (tired).
Mary Jane:[]
- "Mary Jane is more than ready to go out and scavenge" (best).
- "Wasteland is no match for Mary Jane."
- "Mary Jane is feeling excellent."
- "Mary Jane could use some rest but she might manage."
- "Mary Jane might be willing to go to the wastes, but will she make it?"
- "Mary Jane is feeling so-so. Is that enough for an expedition" (worst)?
- "Mary Jane will surely die if she goes outside" (tired).
- "Mary Jane should regain her strength before going out" (tired).
- "We don't think Mary Jane should go outside" (tired).
Timmy:[]
- "Timmy is in good health and full of optimism" (best).
- "Timmy can do it! Timmy can go to the wasteland!"
- "Timmy seems quite enthusiastic about the trip."
- "Timmy is not in the best condition to venture outside."
- "Sending Timmy outside is a bit risky, but he's eager to help."
- "Timmy has a chance to get back. How big a chance, though?" (worst)?
- "Sending Timmy out? Out of the question" (tired).
- "Timmy's condition is too fragile for such a quest" (tired).
- "If Timmy goes out right now he might die" (tired).
The player can give the map, boy scout handbook, flashlight, soup or water to the scavenger to increase the chances of them returning. If the player gets an event where mutants come to the door, giving water or soup to the mutants will heavily increase the chances of the scavenger coming back.
Expedition Descriptions[]
Leaving:[]
- "Ted left for the surface. We hope he'll be back soon."
- "Dolores is on her way to the surface. Let's hope she'll make it back safe and sound."
- "Mary Jane went outside. Let's hope she hurries back soon."
- "Timmy went out to the wasteland. We don't know what we'll do if he doesn't come back."
Returning:[]
- "Ted has safely returned from his voyage to the surface!"
- "We were glad to see Dolores return safely from the wasteland."
- "Nothing made us happier than the sight of Mary Jane returning to the shelter from the surface."
- "We were so afraid for Timmy, but he came back from the wasteland and is safe with us now!"
With attempted breaking-in:
- "When we came back to the shelter, we were relieved to discover that it was still locked. The padlock carries signs of an attempted break-in, but whoever gave it a try didn't succeed in getting inside. Sadly, the padlock is in a sorry state and we can't really use it anymore." -Padlock .
- "The padlock in our shelter finally came in handy. We used it to secure our "home" when leaving for an expedition! When we came back, we found signs of an attempted break-in. That padlock is too damaged to be used again, but at least our safehouse is... well, safe." -Padlock.
Returned from expedition bandit warning:[]
When the player sends out too many expeditions, there is a chance that the player has been followed, the game will tell them with one of these texts:
- "We believe that our expedition to the wasteland must've been followed by strangers. We should be more cautious next time."
- "Our little trip to the surface might've been spotted and followed. We should be more careful next time."
- "It might sound paranoid, but we think someone followed us. Let's hope this doesn't happen again."
When this happens, it means the bandits will take over the area under a countdown of 20 days.
Failure to return[]
Because of a poor preparation:[]
With at least someone inside the shelter:
- "Ted has been outside for far too long, and still has not returned. We fear he isn't coming back" (Ted died).
- "We don't think Dolores will be coming back from the surface. It's been too long..." (Dolores died).
- "Mary Jane was supposed to be back in a few days. It's been too long. We fear something bad has happened to her" (Mary Jane died).
- "Timmy should've returned by now. We need to face the worst possible scenario- he might not be coming back" (Timmy died).
With nobody inside the shelter and the padlock was used:
- "It was supposed to be an easy supply run. Unfortunately, that's not what happened. Ted never returned. The locked shelter will forever hold its secrets, at least until somebody with a hacksaw and lots of patience comes along" (Ted died + game over).
- "It was supposed to be an easy supply run. Unfortunately, that's not what happened. Dolores never returned. The locked shelter will forever hold its secrets, at least until somebody with a hacksaw and lots of patience comes along" (Dolores died + game over).
Because of the raiders:[]
- "It was very unwise of Ted to walk right into the hands of the gang of filthy bandits camped nearby. He is not coming back" (Ted gets captured).
- "A pair of strangers, probably bandits, searched the remains of our house above. We overheard them talking. One of them mentioned they'd captured a woman whose description matched Dolores! We don't think they will let her go" (Dolores gets captured).
- "The commotion coming from outside could only mean one thing- bandits. Mary Jane probably walked right into them. We need to face the possibility that she is not coming back" (Mary Jane gets captured).
- "Timmy can sneak like a secret agent, but that isn't enough to avoid the group of bandits camped near our shelter. We can probably assume he isn't coming back" (Timmy gets captured).
If the shelter was stolen:[]
When the last character leaves the shelter without the padlock in it, the shelter can be stolen by other groups when they come back:
Someone has taken the shelter:[]
- "We found the door locked. We tried to get in. We knocked. We yelled. We heard nothing back. Someone or something is inside our home and it ain't our home anymore. Time to move on" (Game Over).
- "When we couldn't get inside the shelter we knocked, we screamed, we tried to pull the trapdoor open. Nothing worked and no one replied. This is either, the sickest joke anyone has ever played or the people inside are even more scared than we are" (Game Over).
- "There isn't much you can do if a shelter trapdoor is locked shut from the inside. That's what happened to us. It sounds like a valuable lesson for the future. Close the damn door behind you" (Game Over)!

A group of survivors has taken the shelter:[]
- "Our return was far from happy. We found our home inhabited by someone else. A group of people to be precise. They weren't interested in sharing our... THEIR shelter, as they said. No room for us then... it's time to find a new home" (Game Over).
- "When we tried to go into our shelter we found another family inside. They were really convincing with their shotgun and forced us to leave..." (Game Over).

The government has taken the shelter:[]
- "We found access to our house restricted by concrete and a small platoon of heavily armed soldiers patrolling the area around it. We thought that's our ticket out of here, but they just took everything we had and chased us off into the wasteland. Guess we'll be hunter-gatherers now. Like in the good old stone-age days" (Game Over)!
- "The big poster on the shelter entrance claims the bunker is now the property of the government. Well, that's probably not the first nor the last time the government screwed us over..." (Game Over)

A cult has taken the shelter:[]
- "When we came back to the shelter, we couldn't get in and all we could hear was chanting and prayers. Apparently someone thought it was a good idea to turn our home into their prayer house. Damn it." (Game Over)
- "We never expected a band of religious fanatics to cause any trouble. Who would?! As it turned out, a cult turned our shelter into their temple. We tried to reason with them and strike a deal, but the only offer we got was to become human sacrifices to their deity. We considered it, politely declined, and set off to find a new home." (Game Over)

Raiders have taken the shelter:[]
- "We found our house walls painted with bizarre symbols and profanities. The shelter trapdoor was locked and the sign above it read "Marlon rules here." Damn you, Marlon, damn you to hell!" (Game Over)
- "We don't remember leaving a collection of skulls hanging on the remains of our white fence, but it didn't seem that suspicious. We got a bit worried when someone started shooting at us. We realized something is profoundly wrong when a band of half naked, crazed raiders jumped out of the ruins and chased us away. Tough luck." (Game Over)

Items in Expedition[]
Since the "What's in the Suitcase" DLC, you can give most of the items present in the shelter to people for expeditions. Since 60 Seconds! Reatomized!, you can now take soup and water on expeditions.
Utility of items:[]
Certain items can give you extra-supplies when taken in expedition:
| Item: | Outcome 1: | Outcome 2: | Outcome 3: |
|---|---|---|---|
| Deck of Cards. | 2 bottles of water. | Boy Scout Handbook. | Map. |
| Checkers. | 3 cans of soup. | Radio. | Ammunition. |
| Harmonica. | Random. | Random. | Random. |
| Padlock. | 2 bottles of water. | Boy Scout Handbook. | Rifle. |
| Radio. | 3 bottles of water. | Medkit. | Rifle. |
| Bug spray. | 2 cans of soup. | Map. | Radio. |
| Ammunition. | Random. | Gas Mask. | Medkit. |
When you take one of these in expedition, you have a chance to come back with more supplies than you would have normally. An item can only help you to get one extra thing. Also keep in mind that getting extra-supply isn't guaranted, that you won't have your item inside the shelter for a while and that it can ended broken if you are unlicky.
With Cards:[]
With Checkers:[]
With Harmonica:[]
With Padlock:[]
With Radio:[]
With Bug Spray:[]
With Ammunition:[]
The others don't give you extra supplies but help you during the expedition:
| Item | Outcome |
|---|---|
| Suitcase | The character can take 4 items instead of 1 (3 forgetting the suitcase) |
| Gas Mask | The character will better resist radiation |
| Medkit | The character will return without injury (event a few days later) |
| Axe/Rifle | The character has more chance to return when the raiders are around |
| Map/Boy Scout Handbook/Flashlight/Water/Soup | The character has more chance to return when he isn't in good shape |
Items Breaking:[]
Every item has a chance to be damaged or lost during an expedition:
- Damn it, we really liked that suitcase. Well, it's gone now. -Suitcase
- Damn it, our gas mask was damaged during the expedition. -Gas Mask
- Those cards we took with us outside? Well, they're staying outside. -Deck of Cards
- The checkers are gone, GONE! They didn't make it back from the wastes... -Checkerboard
- There is nothing more we can do with our first aid kit we took out to the wasteland. -Medkit
- We returned from the expedition, but our axe didn't make it. -Axe
- That Scout Handbook was really helpful. Too bad we lost it during the expedition. -Boy Scout Handbook
- A bunch of radiactive dust got stuck inside our harmonica when we took it outside. Well, it was fun while it lasted. -Harmonica
- Our map really took a beating during our expedition, it's nearly unusable now. -Map
- Our padlock was lost somewhere in the wastes. -Padlock
- We shouldn't have taken that radio out with us, the fragile old box is broken now. -Radio
- So much for our rifle... it got damaged during our expedition -Rifle
- We didn't bring the bugspray back from the expedition. -Bug Spray
- That ammunition we took with us. We don't have it anymore. Oops. -Ammunition
- Curses! Our flashlight is out of service after that expedition. -Flashlight
Expeditions Locations/Events[]
There are around 32 scavenging locations/events (forgetting the case of "Nothing") that can trigger.
Nothing:[]
- We were hoping this expedition would be successful. Too bad that was not the case.
- Some more supplies would help a great deal, but we didn't get any from this expedition.
- Unfortunately the search was futile. We gained nothing from the excursion.
The Bank:[]
1. During our expedition, we stumbled upon a familiar building - our local bank. Although a place like that might not be the ideal source of useful supplies, we decided to go in anyway. You never know what you might find. Except for bags of cash, obviously.
2. When scavenging for supplies, one should check every possible corner, even if it doesn't seem promising. With that in mind, we ventured into the ruins of the local bank, hoping to find something more than piles of useless pre-apocalypse coins.
+4 Soup:
- It looks like the bank was robbed just before the blast! The vault was cracked open with saws, hidden in teddy bears... who does that? Anyway, we can see why they wanted to rob it so badly - the place was filled with tomato can soups! How did it end up here? Maybe the mail had it delivered to a bank, instead of a food bank?
+1 Water:
- We found a shopping bag on the floor next to the counters. It contained a couple of rotten bananas, hand cream, a pair of bunny slippers and some bottled water. Tempting as all of these treasures may have been, we limited ourselves to taking the water.
- So this is how they guarded the place... unacceptable. In the guard room we found the skeletons of two individuals who seem to have been playing cards when the bombs hit. Good thing we kept our money in a really safe place that is our special cookie jar in the kitchen! Those guards didn't provide much security here, but their cards will contribute to high quality shelter entertainment. Thanks.
+Padlock:
- In the bank's back office we found an open safe. It was empty, but the unlocked padlock we found next to it might prove useful.
+Suitcase:
- On one of the counters we found a suitcase full of money. It looks like someone was trying to make a deposit right when the bombs fell... well, they're not going to get their interest anytime soon. We got rid of the bank notes, but kept the suitcase.
The Bar:[]
1. We tried our luck at a nearby bar, fittingly called 'The World's End'. Usually such a respectable family, like our own, would never go there, but this time we gave it a shot hoping to find some unclaimed goods.
2. Our family would never visit a bar. Never, ever. Unless it was the apocalypse and we were out of food and water and just so happened to run into one of these... establishments. Guess what? We did.
3. None of the burnt down buildings looked very inviting, but after some exploring, running away from mutated spider-crabs (or whatever these things were) we ended up finding ... a bar! For some reason it survived the blast and its neon sign was still working. Except, of course, for the letter A.
+1 Soup:
- Who would've known that tomato soup used to be such a popular snack in a bar... we found a few cans of it and took them with us.
+2 Water:
- We didn't expect to find any clean water in the bar and we weren't wrong. Whatever we found wasn't pure and it wasn't water. But hey, if it quenches thirst, it counts!
- From what we could tell, the atomic blast interrupted a poker game. Those poor bastards are not likely to be finishing that game anytime soon, but we can still use their cards to entertain ourselves.
- We found a set of checkers on one of the tables. What crazy, crazy people play checkers while drinking beer?!
The Bowling Alley:[]
1. When walking aimlessly amongst the ruins, it's not unusual we're drawn to places we knew and loved. Even through we weren't specifically looking for it, we found ourselves in front of our favorite bowling alley.
2. If we had to pick our favourite day of the week, it would be Saturday. Before the bombing, Saturday was time of relaxing and joy, like bribing Mary Jane with cookies so she stopped playing the tuba, gossiping about the neighbors and of course bowling. Look like bowling alley is still standing! Yabadabadoo!
+2 Water:
- Desperate times call for desperate measures, so we weren't surprised to see that someone placed water bottles instead of bowling pins at the end of the lane. We were sorry to ruin their setup, but we really needed that water.
+3 Soup:
- The bar didn't have much to offer: some rotten salads, a bunch of burnt peanuts and for some reason, a cowboy hat. We were really happy to find a secret stash of soup cans under some rubble.
+Padlock:
- As soon as we entered, we went towards the shoe locker - no one should walk around on bowling lanes without proper footwear. We found the locker open and empty, but we managed to grab the padlock used to secure it.
- The venue had it's own game room, where you could relax after running around with hue heavy balls. most of the games were missing or damaged, but we found a decent checkerboard with almost all the pieces. Guaranteed hours of fun.
+Radio:
- The staff room was almost intact and nicely decorated. On top of a beautiful rug stood a table with a radio on it! Such a lucky find. We tried dragging the rug with us to decorate our shelter, but it was too heavy. It's a real shame, a rug like that could really tie the room together.
The Bus Station:[]
1. One of the building to withstand the blast turned out to be our local bus station. If any passagers survived, they have long since abandoned the buses, leaving behind hoards of personal belongings. Backpacks, bags sacks and one guy even left a cupboard. It was difficult to resist looking into it. Guess what. There was another, smaller, cupboard inside.
2. We never liked people who boarded long distance buses with baggage full of food, especially the kind that smelled bad, but in our current situation we will be more than happy to find suitcases filled with canned soup. Or even some smelly cheese.
3. Only a handful of buildings in our town survived the blast wave. One of them was the local bus station. It used to be the central hub for bums and vagabonds in the area, but now it just stand there empty. We decided it's worth to check out, hoping someone left a few soup cans behind.
+2 Water:
- The local athletics team was preparing to depart for a championship taking place in somewhere in the boondocks. Their bus was full of refreshing water and spare shoes. Unfortunately none of them were a match for us, so we just took all the water bottles.
+1 Soup:
- Ransacking through backpacks turned out to be quite profitable. A lot of people had a weird fixation on carrying soup cans with them. Lucky for us, they always picked our favourite flavor - tomato.
+Radio:
- We found a radio! And it was playing this great song, by one great guy. What a wonderful find...
The Church:[]
1. We were about to give up and come back empty-handed to the shelter, when we ran into a church. It looked peaceful enough, save for an un-exploded atomic bomb, stuck in the church tower. A sizable group of people were busy praying to the bomb, chanting something about the "holy fission". That sounded really crazy, but those people seem friendly enough.
2. We came across the local church at the end of the road. Most of it was destroyed, but the priest quater survived the blast. A group of people survived there and started a cult. They believe that everything that's happening is a game, tailored for someone's amusement. How crazy is that?
3. Our expedition reach a local church which was still standing. Most of it was intact and some people decided to turn in into a shelter. As we found out it was more than that. We weren't sure what religion they followed, but they were really eager to convince us that tomatoes are the source of all evil and eggplants are the only hope for salvation.
+1 Soup:
- Those nice people gave us some canned soup. They say they don't like the taste of it. Now we're certain that they're nutjobs.
+2 Water:
- Cultists decided that they won't be needing any holy water. We did a bit of miracle work and turned empty wine bottles into quite full water bottles.
- One of the beds in the surviving church quarters was filled with quite a few treasures. Namely a flashlight and a few books about evolution. We took the flashlight.
The Cinema:[]
1. Our need for entertainment took us to the local cinema. A portion of the theatre is still standing, including at least one cinema hall. We went in, hoping to scavenge something. Or at least find some film posters.
2. We used to visit our local cinema so often that we could travel there blindfolded. It wans't thatsurprising when this was where our feet took us, almost without involving our brain in the process.
+2 Soup:
- When we recognized the sign of the food stand sticking from between the rubble, we were hoping to find some popcorn. There was none. But the tomato soup dispenser was still working... yay...
+2 Water:
- The cinema had a strict policy of not bringing your own drinks into the movie hall. Seems like somebody broke the rules a little - we found a lot of bottles in the last row of the hall. Some were even full!
+Padlock:
- The only thing left of the ticket booth is a door with a padlock on it. The security here must have been questionable - someone forgot to take the key out.
- Under one of the seats we found a deck of cards. It must have been a really boring movie if someone felt they needed to bring a game to the screening.
- Breaking our legs amongst the ruined was not difficult and the cinema wasn't helping. If it wasn't for our hawk-eyes and cat like reflexes, that flashlight abandoned in the middle of the movie theatre passage could have proven lethal.
The City Hall:[]
1. After a bit scouting, we arrived at the city hall. Half of it was still standing, while the other half was tuened out to be a gaping hole in the ground. We went into the ruins, hoping to find something useful.
2. Half of our local city hall has been completely obliterated. The other half however looked promising, so we went in to investigate the ruins.
+2 Water:
- One of the surviving rooms was a small maintenance closet. The only thing inside was a bucket full of water with a mop standing in it. We manage to fill some bottle with the contenant of that bucket... It does looks a bit funny, we just hope it does taste of soap. Or something worse.
+Radio:
- The mayor's secretary was a sweet old lady who loved music. The mayor let her keep a radio so she could listen to it while she workes. It's still here and undamaged!
+Medkit:
- We found the mayor sitting in his office on the top floor. He had a fully stocked first aid kit on his desk. Apparently he was a bit of a heal freak. All this medication seemed to have done nothing for him thought, now he looks rather... burnt with a hint of crispy and skeletal.
+Map:
- Archives in the basement were relatively undamaged, but the room was in a total chaos. Acts and documents were laying around a huge piles and between them, we found a map of our town. We couldn't resist looking into one of our friend's documents. Turns out she's way older than she claimed to be. That lying old bat!
The Docks:[]
1. The docks are quite a distance away from our house, but we knew of a warehouse that had housed an impressive number of goods before the bombing. We considered it a good idea to pay it a visit.
2. It's quite a long walk from our house to the docks. We knew of a promising warehouse in the area. It survived the blast, but the sea wave drowned half of it. We were hoping it wasn't the better half.
+5 Soup:
- We always thought canned soup was made in America. Apparently, it's made in another country with a weird name that we didn't recognize. According to the crate's date-stamp, the shipment came after the blast. Hmm... weird.
+4 Water:
- Water, water, everywhere, and finding empty bottles to store it in was not a problem. The problem was the water we filled them with was kinda salty...
+Ammo:
- The half drowned container in the back was labelled: 'Nothing important'. It was full of ammo.
- A checkers board was floating on the surface. It took us only 12 hours to find all the pieces to make it playable. Time well spent.
The Ethan's House:[]
1. Despite his rather calm demeanor, Timmy got into a few fights before the apocalypse. His last victory was beating a kid named Ethan with a stick. Ethan's parents were furious and invited us over to discuss Timmy's behaviour but before we could schedule a meeting, the world went to hell. During our trip we found their house and knocked on the door but nobody answered. We decided to go in and investigate.
2. A few days before the blast Timmy got into a fight with a kid named Ethan and beat him with a stick. We were supposed to visit Ethan's parents and talk about the incident, but we were a bit busy back then. Well, now we have all the time in the world and although it looked like our friends weren't home, we still decided to pay them a visit. We were invited, after all.
+2 Soup;
- These people were obsessed with tomato soup. We saw many cans in their ruined kitchen. Most of them were damaged and all the tomato goodness has leaked out, but some survived!
+2 Water;
- Behind the remains of their kitchen counter, we found some bottled water. It's not our favourite brand, but it will have to do.
- Their living room was quite spacious and nicely decorated. There's not much left of it now, but we managed to salvage a checkerboard from the rubble. We even found some checkers pieces!
+Gas Mask:
- Our friends had a big, nicely furnished bedroom with an antique, wooden closet. They must have been big fans of costume parties - the closet contained a ton of differents outfits and props! Such a colorful and fun people. Between the countless piece of clothing we found a functional gas mask.
+Suitcase:
- We found thier garage empty - they might've gone on a vacation before the apocalypse. Maybe they even survived? They left behind a few suitcases, through. We didn't think they would mind us borrowing one.
The Fire Station:[]
1. We were happy to find that the fire station in our town is at least semi-operationable, even after the apocalypse. It's not really shocking - firefighters are the greatest of heroes, right after marines and ice cream men (the ones with happy tunes in their vans)! Although none of their faces looked familiar, we're sure they're the real deal. They had uniforms, helmets, and everything. They even customized their headwear by drawing a lot of menacing skulls on them. How creative!
2. Who you're gona call when the world is on fire? The fire department! We were thrilled to find the place still running. Firefighter redecorated the place and redid their outfits - most of the wall messily painted in black and red, and the firemen helmets now have a grim skull symbol on them. We never thought our local firefighters had such artistic souls! So alternative!
+3 Water:
- Near the garage we found a few firefighters shooing off giant, mutated cockroaches with a firehose. We joined in on the fun and managed to fill some bottles with water in the process!
+Axe:
- Outside, next to the entrance, we found a mannequin dressed in police uniform nailed to the wall with a fire axe. It must have been an art installation of sorts and we were sorry to ruin it, but we really needed that axe.
+Padlock:
- At the back of the station we found a few lockers filled with hand grenades and landmines. We're not sure why firefighters need an arsenal of this calibre, but we unlocked and took the padlock that was used to seal the lockers.
- Although initially friendly, the firefighter became a bit anxious after a while. They handed us a can of bug spray and asked us to not tell to anyone what we saw here. We're not sure why, maybe they're too humble and don't want to people to came and showers them with gifts?
The Gas Station:[]
1. The nuke did the most of the destructive work, but gasoline reserves under the nearby gas station blew up as well. All that was left of the place was crippled cashier's booth and the remains of several cars. Someone might thought 60 seconds was enough for a gas refill and quick getaway. They thought wrong.
2. It was difficult to tell right and left in all of the rubble that our town turn into, but we found our way to where the gas station used to be. It doesn't look like a gas station anymore. The only recognisable parts of it were a few car wrecks and the casier's booth that probably did a long trip up and then back to the ground.
3. The majority of the local gas station was destroyed. Gasoline reserves blew up too and probably did more damage than the atomic bomb. The only thing left intact was the cashier's booth, along with some cars and the gas price board. War or not, prices are still growing every day...
+Soup:
- There was an abandoned truck in line for the gas pump. We immediately recognised the logo of a well know company on it's side. Yup, the canned soup company.
+Water:
- A few water bottles were scattered around in the cashier's booth. None of the explosions damaged them. Though it is funny how the pipe's shadow burned into the wall.
- We stumbled upon a half eaten sandwich in the cashier's booth and some bug spray.
+Map:
- One of the cars had a map inside of it. After perusing the chart, we noticed a label wich read: "Time machine hidden here". A big red "X" marks the spot.
- A deck of cards was lying about just outside the booth. After picking them up and counting them out, the only things missing were three sixes. Playable enough.
The Hospital:[]
1. It turned out that calling an ambulance is not an option anymore. We reached the hospital. It's in ruins, but parts of it turned out to be still standing... more or less. We've decided to go through the rubble and make the best of it.
2. We found our way to the nearby hospital, which, despite heavy structural damage, is still standing. The sight wasn't pretty, though. What used to be inside the hospital is now all over the place. Whatever survived the blast wave, anyway.
3. Our expedition was able to get to the local hospital. It appears that the blast blew up some of the upper floors. Bed, some with patient still on them, and shreds of medical equipment were lying all over the place. However, after exploring the first floor we concluded that the majority of people inside evacuated the building in time.
+1 Soup:
- The canteen had a respectable supply of tomato soup. It looks like this was the only thing they fed their patients. Now we're 100% sure it's healthy!
+2 Water:
- There were plenty of bottles of liquid in one of the wards. Peroxide or not, water is water and beggars can't be choosers.
+Medkit:
- It wasn't hard to find a fully equipped first aid kit. After all it's a hospital.
+Gas Mask:
- One of the surviving hospital beds had a gas mask hanging on it, along with a note that read "Wear this - the patient smells really bad".
+Axe:
- One of the dead patients had an axe sticking out of his back. According to his chart he was feeling perfectly fine before the atomic blast. We decided he no longer needs that axe.
The Hotel:[]
1. We found the Tencent Hotel in ruins, but there was plenty to look through. Pieces of furniture, suitcases and other hotel supplies were scattered all over the place.
2. The proud Elison Hotel was completely destroyed. Piles and piles of luggage were lying between heaps of rubble. Only a few rooms on lower levels partially survived.
+1 Soup:
- Now we know the secret of their restaurant chef. It's tomato soup! No wonder they were a five star hotel.
+1 Water:
- Every room was stocked with water bottles for guests. A few of them remained relatively untouched by the explosion.
- In what was left of one of the rooms two figures were playing chess. One was a skeleton and the other was a man in a kind of metal armor. They gave us their chessboard, claiming they have a spare one. Only when we walked away, did we discover they gave us checkers, instead of chess. What a sick joke.
- One of the luggage bags was filled with a wide array of different flashlight models. Excited, we tried them all, but only one was in any working condition.
+Axe:
- The lobby was mostly destroyed and barely anything could be found on the floor, except for one very hairy and very dead lumberjack. He had an axe in his hand.
The Library:[]
1. Who would've thought wooden furniture could be so durable! In the ruins of one of the town's buildings we saw a desk and several bookshelves. We soon realized these are the remains of the local public library, so we went between the rubble to investigate.
2. The old library in the center of our town was reduce to a huge pile of rubble. The only things that distinguishable in the ruins were a few half-burnt bookshelves and the remains of the librarian desk.
+1 Soup:
- Under the librarian's desk we found a lunchbox, and some food in it. We wonder what could have possibly prevented her from eating her lunch. The collapsed ceiling might have taken her appetite away.
+2 Water:
- Under the debris we found some water bottles. They're a bit dusty, but the liquid inside looks clean enough.
+Rifle:
- The head librarian was a shy and quiet local girl with a weird passion for firearms. Finding a loaded rifle attached to her wasn't a big surprise to us.
- The sturdy bookshelf protect some of the books from incineration. We ditched the great american novel and other classic and went straight for the Scout Handbook.
The McDoodle's House:[]
1. Our poor, poor house was completely destroyed above our shelter. It's really sad and devastating. Where will we live after we get out of this mess? Surely fate is not cruel enough to keep pushing us to Dolores's sister in Toronto?!
2. We decided to finally check what we can find between the rubble in our own backyard. Our poor, poor lawns and flowers... once the object of desire of the whole neighbourhood, now reduced to nothing more than radioactive ashes, covered by debris.
3. We've been discussing about selling our house and moving someplace else, but in truth, we didn't exactly picture things as they turned out. We miss the old place, it was only natural that we decided to take a look and see if any of it was standing.
4. Our house is in ruins. We still haven't pay the mortgage! No worry about that now, is there? The least we could do was pick through whatever is left and see if there are any useful items. Maybe one of Timmy's comic book survived...
+2 Soup:
- The only recognizable furniture in the kids' room were burned desks and Mary Jane's bed. There was a hidden stash under the bed. It was full of soup cans.
- There really isn't much left here. The only tree that left is completely burnt out. In a hollow area inside the dead husk, some mutated three-tailed squirrels made their home. They're pretty good at collecting stuff! Hope they don't mind us borrowing a thew things.
+2 Water:
- The kitchen was a pile of rubble. It took us weeks to find those lovely chairs that matched the floor tiles, now they were nowhere to be found, only a few bottles of water remained scattered in the dirt.
- The garage still has two walls left, but most things inside are gone. Not even the bicycle made it through the blast, but weirdly enough, the baskets installed of top of them did. We found some leftover supplies there from our last bicycle trip.
+Axe:
- Our toolshed is gone, except the door, which stands stubbornly with nothing around it. It served it's purpose, though - an axe hanging on the other side was completely covered from the blast. Looks as good as new.
+RANDOM:
- We use to barbeque here almost every weekend. The barbeque itself somehow found its way onto a power line in front of our house and it's unreachable. Our garden table is mostly destroyed... under bit of pieces of charred wood, we found a few things that could prove useful.
+Rifle:
- The car blew up. It's now a roasted piece of metal junk. In some fantastically incomprehensible way the spare rifle in the trunk survived all of that and still works!
- The muddy swamp, which used to be our toilet, is now home to something that remotely resembles a mutated turtle. After exchanging a few pleasantries, it gave us an anti-bug spray and wished us the best of luck.
- Only a handful of books survived the apocalypse. They were scattered all over our lawn. Many of them were badly burned, but a Scout Handbook, with the number "13" scribbled on the first page, was barely touched.
The Metro Station:[]
1. We thought the metro station would be a good place to search for undamaged supplies. It turned out someone came up with the same idea - there's a group of people living down there. They use bullets as currency. They're no bandits but they keep to themselves. They told us to have a look around if we wanted to.
2. We were surprised to find out that the metro station wasn't exactly abandoned. It's inhabited by a group that uses bullet as currency. They were armed and not overly friendly, but they're no bandit either - they allowed us to take a look around as long as we didn't touch any of their stuff.
+2 Water:
- We wouldn't pass any opportunity to get some more water, so when we found the toilets, we did not hesitate to fill as many bottles as we could with that murky, irradiated liquid. What a treat!
+2 Soup:
- Near the metro entrance we discovered a tomato soup vending machine. Of course we left most of our change in another pair of trousers, but we took whatever we could.
+Ammo:
- The metro station trader took a special liking to our clothing. We were always proud of our dress sense, but in our opinion, during the apocalypse you never say no to a package of fresh ammunitions. Also, you can probably manage just fine without your undergarments, so we quickly came to an agreement.
- There was a small maintenance are next to ticket booths. We were hoping to find a bit of soap to finally wash ourselves. The only thing we could find there was a can of bug spray.
+Suitcase:
- The group living at the station had thrown a bunch of suitcases, backpacks and bags to form a big pile and called it a barricade. We carefully took a particularly nice looking suitcase. It was quite tricky and we came close to collapsing that house of cards, but thankfully we did not ruin the whole thing.
The Monkey:[]
1. We were not alone outside the shelter. At first it, seemed like the creature stalking us was about to get itself a tasty diner. To our relief it turned out to be a friendly monkey! It joined our expedition.
2. The silent wasteland has at least one resident who managed quite well. It was a proud looking monkey. We had no idea where it came from. The zoo maybe? It seemed very friendly. After getting a few pats on the back and playing fetch it started to following us.
3. Atomic wastelands are hostile by definition, but there are some creatures that survive everything you throw at them, even nuclear bombs. One of them was a monkey who seemed like it's been through a lot. And yet it was very lively, and more than happy to accompany us on our expedition.
+2 Soup:
- While we explored one of the streets, our monkey companion ran away, only to came back later carrying a can of food. It couldn't open it itself, but it was happy to share it with us.
+1 Water:
- At one point during our expedition, the monkey started making weird sounds, and digging in front of us with a stick. A quick investigation revealed a few bottles of water. no one even tried to open them! The same Couldn't be said about those bottles of booze lying next to them.
+Medkit:
- The monkey took us just outside the town to what seemed like a hidden bunker. It contained some medical supplies.
The Museum:[]
1. During our expedition we stumbled across a half-ruined wall with some half-burnt painting on it. We quickly realized we found the ruins of our local museum. Normally we would never enter an establishment like that without a ticket, but desperate times call for desperate measures. We jumped over the turnstile without looking back.
2. We went on a trip to a more specific place this time - a local museum on Tranquility Lane. Several rooms and a corridor wall decorated with some charred paintings that'd survived the blast. The whole place doesn't even look that bad, it's almost like a morden art exhibit!
+2 Water:
- In front of the museum canteen we found a box with some water bottles in it. It was probably left there by some delivery company. That delivery company is probably out of business now. Our guess it was blown out of the market.
+2 Soup:
- We were hoping for some sweets or snacks, but all the museum canteen had to offer was tomato soup. Those poor, poor tourists.
+Gas Mask:
- Between the rubble we found a half destroy statue of a lady. She didn't have a lot of clothes in, save for a gas mask somebody put on her face, probably as a joke. We were hesitant to approach, as the lady was dressed... immodestly, but then we saw she was holding an urn! As long as there's an urn, it's art and it's okay to look at it. Everyone know that.
+Padlock:
- The gift shop was in a sorry state - while it's still standing, the whole place was flooded with souvenirs and junk. Or both - sometimes it's hard to tell the difference. The only useful thing we found was a padlock that was securing the safe behind the counter. The safe itself was empty, of course.
+Ammo:
- The half ruined wall is all that' left to the main corridor. Some painting are still hanging, but they're almost unrecognizable. At the end of the corridor we found a museum gard sitting on a chair, or at leat something that used to be a museum guard. We found some ammo in his pocket. Or at leat something that used to be his pocket.
The Neighbourhood:[]
1. We liked our street, especially during national celebrations. Everyone joined in and decorated their lawns and houses. Plenty of fun was to be had. The street doesn't look like it will be used for any celebrations anytime soon. Not in the next hundred years, anyway, but we had an idea - maybe something useful could still be found amongst the rubble?
2. Our house wasn't the only one to suffer. Most of our neighbourhood was destroyed by the blast. The street was completely covered with piles of rubble, chunks of wall and roof tiles. A rare passerby in a gas mask can occasionally be seen from a distance scavenging for supplies.
3. Exploring the wasteland should begin in our own backyard. Plenty of well stocked houses, a lot of neighbors we didn't like that could be robbed without hesitation, We decided to give it a shot.
+1 Soup:
- We found a refrigerator in the middle of our neighbour's lawn. Even without electricity, the light inside was on. It contained quite a few soup cans and surprisingly - a brown fedora. It wasn't edible. We tried.
+1 Water:
- It appears that mister Jenkins, from down the road, was brewing his own moonshine. We discovered a few bottles with labels that suggested a high percentage of alcohol, but the stuff tasted like water, so we assume he failed. Or did he?
- A band of kids was playing war in nearby ruins. They had plenty of real guns and ammunition. It's very encouraging to see that kids are making the best of this terrible, terrible situation. They even shared some ammunition with us.
- We found one of our neighbours picking up books. He claimed he was looking for one titled: "How to serve a man". Apparently it's a cook book. All he found was a Scout Handbook, which he gave to us. "It's not the same" he claimed, for some reasons he didn't go into.
- The debris formed a tunnel of sorts. At the end of the tunnel there was a bright light. We were amazed. We were frightened. We were curious. We soon discovered the meaning of all this. Yup! It was a flashlight.
The Parking Lot:[]
1. On the edge of town there used to be a big parking lot. Now it looks more like a junkyard, most of vehicle are completely wrecked or burned down. We figured it still worth too checking out.
2. A pile of car wrecks revealed that we stumbled across a big parking lot. Almost no cars survived the blast wave, but we went between the wrecks to explore anyways.
+2 Water:
- Under of burnt remains of a picnic table we found some bottle of water. Those bottles were not in the best stable, but their contents look perfectly drinkable.
+2 Soup:
- It seems like the bomb interrupted someone's picnic. Thankfully they were big fans of tomato soup and the indestructible cans were scattered all around the parking lot.
+Suitcase:
- In one of the trunks we found a leather suitcase. It's almost untouched! We're a bit disappointed there was nothing inside, but the suitcase alone will do just fine.
+Axe:
- In a trunk of a wrecked car we found a fine, sharp axe. That vehicle must've belonged to a lumberjack. Or a serial killer. Or both perhaps?
- There was a really nice motorbike standing a bit to the side, next to the car wrecks. Or rather, it used to be nice, there's not much left of it now. Upon inspecting the bags attached to the bike, we found a working flashlight.
The Police Station:[]
1. When we reached our local police station, we were surprised to find it staffed by police officers. That's an admirable call of duty right there! We couldn't say we knew any of them, but they had uniforms and badges, so surely they are the law in this part of the wasteland. It seems like they started writing it down on the wall for everyone to see. The exterior station walls are covered with some inspiring signs, like "New Order" and "The World is Ours!".
2. The first thing to fall in a time of crisis is order. Yet here we were, walking next to the police station and it turned out to be still operational and staffed! We've met with a few policemen inside. They seemed pretty capable of doing their job, though it's pretty odd the way they were talking about a "New World Order."
+1 Water:
- They had a plenty of water in their stash. They were acting very nervously and immediately consented to sharing when asked. Then they all started exercising.
+1 Soup:
- The policemen were quite nervous while we were around. After a short chat, they gave us some food, then told us to go away and never mention what we saw to anyone.
+Rifle:
- Suddenly, the officers started arguing over the subject of taking over the world. It was really strange, they yelled about how they can't assault the firemen without proper firepower. They even threw a rifle out the window, claiming it is useless without any ammunition. We disagreed and took the rifle with us when we were leaving.
- An ammunition pack was lying just outside the station.
+Map:
- There was a map laid out on the hood of one of the burned down police cars. The clumsy sign on it read: "The Plan to Take Over the World"
The Scavenger's bag:[]
1. Noises in our neighbourhood could only mean trouble. We decided to follow them to their sources and started to tracking a group of scavengers. They weren't from around here, so we took the opportunity to "liberate" one of their backpacks. They had about a dozen more, so they probably won't miss one.
2. We spotted an unknown group of people scavenging in our neighbourhood. They had a lot of bags and backpacks. Too many even! They were really busy, and didn't notice when one of their backpacks went missing... with a little help from us.
3. Before leaving our neighbourhood, expedition noticed a group of scavengers. We didn't know them, yet they didn't hava any reservations about scavenging the area clear. We decided to steal one of the numerous backpack they had while they weren't looking.
+1 Soup:
- Lucky find! There were some cans inside. Oh! It's just soup...
+2 Water:
- The sound of glass hitting glass while running with a backpack could mean only one thing. Water!
+Medkit:
- At the bottom of the backpack, underneath a dozen or so pieces of women's underwear, we found a first aid kit.
- The outer pocket of the backpack contained a deck of cards. Better than nothing.
The School:[]
1. The local school is a big building a mile away from our house. Nobody liked that place. The atomic blast didn't change that. Now, without windows and a few walls remaining, it looks even more unpleasant. pleasant or not, it seemed like a good spot to hunt for some useful supplies.
2. Our expedition went directly to visit the primary school. Not for education, of course, oh no. We were desperate for supplies and the school was our best chance of getting them.
+1 Soup:
- Everybody adored the lunch lady. She was almost eighty and everything she touched tasted great and smelled of tomato. now we know her secret - Tomato soup cans.
+2 Water:
- The biology class had an aquarium. The fish had died as no one fed them, but the aquarium water could still be drinkable. there was enough for a few bottles.
- The local Scout team had its own room in the school basement. We found it filled with boxes and boxes of Scout Handbooks. Maybe they were preparing for the apocalypse? Anyways, we just took one.
+Map:
- The geography class was poorly equipped. The only useful thing that we could find was a map of our town. Still better than nothing.
+Gas Mask:
- The PE teacher was a World War II veteran. He kept some of his war trophies and memorabilia in his office at school. This included: grenades, a bazooka, and a fully functional gas mask.
The Spaceship:[]
We spotted an untouched store with many product inside, even food different than tomato soup! A real treat in these post-apocalyptic times. When we were about to reach it, a terrible noise made us stop in our tracks. Something heavy fall straight from the sky, crashing into the store and destroying it completely. After dust settled, we realized we were looking at... a spaceship! Just like in the Timmy's comics. Could it be... saucer men from Mars? Then why does it bear american flag on the side and the logo of something called Astro-Citizen?! Could it be infiltration? Crafty little alien buggers...
- Under a bunch of metal space junk we found a tired, old teddy bear and some supplies. The bear looked disappointed. We end up turning him around. We could not handle his judgmental, button eyes.
+RANDOM +2 Water/Nothing:
- Someone stuffed a bunch of item s into a big sock. Not sure how a sock made it through the crash, but it somehow succeeded at protecting the supplies inside.
+RANDOM/2 Soup +2 Water/Nothing:
- We were tempted to take a bunch of jewellery that was rolling around the debris... but what would we do with it? Instead, we adopted some things that survived thanks to being stuck in an empty space helmet.
The Store:[]
1. Where to go for supplies? What a silly question. To the store of course! We decided that the bombs don't matter that much and our favorite store should still be our number one stop for groceries. We found it, or at least, what was left of it.
2. For all our daily bread and butter needs, we always went to the small store next to the barber's. They had the most amazing clerk who always asked us to come again. We found it intact!
3. We used to go to this little store for groceries. They always had their windows closed and a sign that strated: "We assure you were open". We found some left inside.
+4 Soup:
- Most of the food on the shelves was outdated and rotten. A lot of eggs were smashed on the floor. Guess what - soup cans don't expire until 2015. Good for us!
+4 Water:
- We found a shelf with a big sign that read 'Everything for 0.99$'. The only thing left were bottle of water. Huh, expensive.
+Radio:
- The store counter was very dirty thanks to some previously used chewing gum and smokes. On the other side, we found a radio playing strange and exotic European music.
+Medkit:
- There was a restroom in the back. Inside, we found a dead body next to a first aid box. Guess it didn't help.
+Gas Mask:
- A gas mask was hanging on the wall. There was a sign next to it that read: 'Is it safe???'.
The Supermarket:[]
1. Going to the supermarket is not as easy as it used to be. Now that Raiders have taken over the place, and are running plunder operations in the area, it is more difficult than ever. We sensed the numbers left on guard duty were limited, it seemed possible to sneak around them and retrieve some of their loot. It's worth a shot.
2. A local supermarket might have seemed like a great place for a safe haven, but unfortunately, a bandit group had the same idea and turned it into their new home instead. These thugs are heavily armed and able to terrorise the entire area. Maybe stealing from them would be ideal payback?
3. We quickly discovered that the supermarket has become the base of operations for a raider group. They are armed and dangerous. Sometimes they would leave to plunder and ransack the area. Even if it's risky, that was the best time to try to steal from them.
+4 Soup:
- Sneaking through the store shelves provided us with a few soup cans.
+6 Water:
- The way was clear to the staff room. Inside we found nothing but a water cooler. Free water for employees, wow! That must have been a dream job.
+Radio:
- We found our way to a better part of the store that had a few working radios standing on the shelves. We helped ourselves to one of them.
+Map:
- One of the walls was decorated with a big map of the surrounding area. Several buildings had X markings on them.
+Rifle:
- The bandits kept some of their guns in the staff room. The good thing about that? None of the raiders were near it, but we were...
- We were in a rush because the raiders might come back any minute. We grabbed a few things at random. One of them turned out to be a bug killing spray.
- A flashlight on the ground is an easy way to get your neck broken. We learned this the hard way. It's amazing that no one heard all the noise.
The Supplies Drop:[]
1. We're casually exploring the neighborhood, when we got cornered by a scary looking thug with a shotgun. The odds weren't in our favour, until a crate fell out of the sky and drop right down on the bandit. Excellent timing, government aid!
2. When our expedition noticed planes in the sky, we were afraid more bombs would fall. Instead, supply crates began to rain down. We made sure we got to one of the drops before other survivors could loot it.
3. Goverment is dropping supplies for survivors in the area. They are marked by smoke flares and can easily be seen, but most of them are barely reachable. Despite that, a lot of them were already ransacked by scavengers. How did they do that?!
4. The sweet, sweet prospect of government aid! Hey, we're no commies, but centrally planned help during the apocalypse is something we're really looking forward to! Our expedition exited the shelter right before the air drops strated falling out of the sky
5. What was that? Is it a bird? Is it a stockbroker? Is it the bicycle repair man? NO! It's the aid air-drop! That was an excellent time to leave the bunker in search of supplies!
6. We ran into air drop crates during our expedition! We should probably be thankful to president foundation for organizing drops for the survivors, provided he's still the one in charge. Getting your country nuked during your term doesn't sound like a good thing to put on your résumé.
+2 Soup:
- A food drop! That's what we needed! What did they drop this time... bread? Cheese? Meat? Chocolate? No... tomato soup cans. Hurray.
- One of the food drops broke in mid air and now it's raining soup! Luckily for us, a few cans survived the fall.
+2 Water:
- Someone forgot to fill the water crate with something to soften the fall... as a result, most of the bottles were shattered. Luckily a few of them survived. That should be enough to keep us going for a bit.
- Some creates were filled with really weird stuff. Why did they drop a create full of rubber ducks? At least one of the smaller creates had a few water bottle in it.
+Axe:
- We think a box we found was intended for a colony of lumberjacks. It was full of axes. We took one.
+Radio:
- Our supplies did not include a working radio. The problem was, we weren't able to find one in any of the dropped crates. Eventually, we encountered a box full of toasters. We spent some time tinkering with them using trial and error and ended up with a radio that occasionally works. We call that a win!
- Our neighbours from another shelter give us a radio. They said they found it in one of the dropped crates, but they already had a working radio.
+Medkit:
- Every responsable and respectable family needs a first aid kit filled with some of high quality drugs. We were running short, so the opportunity to replenish them was something we were eagerly awaiting. We just didn't expect a medical container to fall on another scavenger's head. That was pretty traumatic. We might need some drugs to cope with the memory.
+Rifle:
- A bunch of folks were having a gunfight over several crate of drop supplies. One group emerged victorious and chases their opponents. One of the guns from the fight was left behind.
+Gas Mask:
- We forced one of the boxes open and found an impressive collection of stinky cheese and a gas mask. We discovered that eating with a gas mask on your face is not ideal and since we value our lives and our noses we decided to take the mask and leave the cheese behind.
The Theater:[]
1. Theater means actors, and where you find actors, you can easily run into mimes. And so we approached the theater on our tiptoes. But in the end we decided our need for supplies was greater than our fear of mimes, so we bravely went in to explore.
2. As the educated and cultured people we are, we've obviously visited the local theater in the past. We're also proud to admit that we only fell asleep once... during one of the txo plays we've ever seen. Either way, we had no problems finding the building and we decided to check it for supplies.
+3 Water:
- This must have been one boring play if the only props being used were bottles. The scene was practically filled with them. Thankfully some had water in them.
+2 Soup:
- We half expected the theater cafeteria to be in a sorry state. Surprisingly, the atomic blast spared most of it and we were able to admire their selection of foods. It was very vivid - small, medium, or large cans of tomato soup. We felt large cans were meant for us.
+Padlock:
- We had some fun playing around different theater props and outfits. We didn't look especially fabulous in any of them, but we took a padlock from one of the boxes as a souvenir.
+Suitcase:
- Of the many props this theater has to offer was a proper, leather suitcase. We got rid of some costumes that were inside and dusted it off. As good as new!
+Axe:
- Next to the entrance we found a glass-case mounted on the wall. Inside was an axe and the sign said "breaking in case of an emergency". We're almost certain that a nuclear apocalypse constitutes at least a bit of an emergency.
The Trashes:[]
1. If you're desperate enough, or need dietary needs, any place can be interesting enough to look for supplies. For instance... garbage cans. Garbage collection was supposed to be happening around this time, but the trucks never came. We never thought we would say that, but we aren't complaining!
2. When a man is desperate enough, any place is good to look through to get food or water. Our expedition was coming home with nothing to show for all the searching, but then they stumbled across full trash cans in our neighbourhood. One man's trash is another man's treasure
3. When our scavenge trip was about to end with nothing, we remembered there was one place where we haven't looked yet. One place that is literally on our doorstep. Trash cans in our neighbourhood!
+1 Soup:
- One of our pre-blast neighbours threw out a few unopened cans of soup. Ha! The jokes on him. If he's in his shelter right now, he's probably full of regrets. With a lawn like that, who wouldn't we?
+1 Water:
- Why do people throw out water? Who cares, finders keepers.
+Radio:
- One of the bins had a nice, working radio inside. The owner probably bought a new radio and got rid of the old one. We should buy a nex one too, when all of that is over.
+Rifle:
- That pacifist guy from around the corner threw out his rifle. It's our now. Wonder if it still work...
+Gas Mask:
- Oh the irony! Or maybe a paradox? Or maybe neither? A gas mask is lying in a pile of stinky garbage.
The Wizard Trades:[]
1. Before our expedition could go anywhere, we ran into a group of freaky people dressed like wizards. They were eager to trade some of their supplies for a few... items. It sounds like a fair deal so we invited them in.
2. We brought some strange-looking people back to our doorstep. They claimed to be wizards and were willing to trade useful supplies in exchange for a few... weird trinkets. After hearing them out, we decided to look around our shelter for the items they wanted.
+3 Water:
- They were really ecstatic about purchasing a pair of old socks, which had been lying in the corner for some time now, living their own life. The wizards got them in exchange for a few bottles of water. One of them placed the socks on her ears and started to dance.
+2 Soup:
- They had some food with them that we actually bought with real, pre-apocalyptic money. They thought the coins we gave them were magical. We didn't argue.
+Radio:
- They really want to sell us their radio. They claimed it was evil and whispers about the return of the dark lord. We gave them a bottle cap.
The Yacht:[]
1. The nearby docks housed and some fancy looking boats. One of them managed to survive the tidal-wave cause by the atomic blast. Well, kinda. It landed on our neighbor house. It looked worth checking out.
2. One of our neighbours had a boat of his own. The old timer wasn't happy to let anyone used it and just kept it in his yard. It still there, but the neighbour isn't. We finally got a chance to get a look inside.
3. We used to go waterfront, before all of this happend. It was a great place to enjoy time with our family and watch ships, boats and sailors. We were really exited to find one of our favourite yachts a few blocks aways from our house. We found it a bit mysterious that it's now moored in the middle of the crossroads, but there are plenty of reasonable explanations for that.
+2 Water:
- Since the ocean is pretty salty, keeping a supply of drinkable water on board was a pretty reasonable precaution to take. Now, it's reasonable for us to take it all with us.
+1 Soup:
- We found a few soup cans in the yacht's cargo hold. It seems rich people like soup too. Soup is great. We love soup.
+Map:
- One of the cabins was filled with maps, binoculars and some technical gadgets. Most of them looked useless to us save for a map of the local area. It will definitely be useful.
+Radio:
- The captain's cabin was a mess, but we managed to dig through it and even find a fancy hat and a working radio! We weren't sure which one should we take. Tough choice, but we ultimately decided to take the radio.
The Zoo:[]
We set off on an expedition to the nearby zoo we used to visit on weekends. We're happy to report that it was a productive supply runs, as well as educational trip. We saw pterodactwhales, chimpandeers, a porcupony, a small army of catroaches and other majestic creatures that have emerged among the post-nuclear fauna.
+2 Water:
- The marine life section had collapsed, turning into a radioactive pond in the middle of the zoo filled with creatures like piranhatees and seaponies. In a half-destroyed aquarium control room, we found an undamaged cupboard with some supplies.
+RANDOM:
- A friendly looking crabtopamus lazily observed the Sealife section from a distance. In its den, we found the body of a zoo worker of his possessions laying around.
+RANDOM:
- Between the East Asian and Australian sections, we found some cute pandaroos. Some had items stashed in their pouches and they didn't seem to mind us borrowing a few things.
+RANDOM:
- We made our way to the African section and admired an atomic okapi. We're not sure if it's mutated or not, it already looked weird as hell before. We scared off a group of them and found something stashed at the back of their enclosure.
+RANDOM:
- Running away from humongous taranturaptors, we made our escape through the zoo souvenir shop. Most of it was torn to shreds by the bomb, but a few useful things were still lying around.
Fun Fact: The Harmonica is the only item that can only be found in the case of a "RANDOM" find in an expedition.
