Description[]

Baby Bronco is one of the six known main characters in 60 Parsecs!. He is the slowest playable character when scavenging, although he has five (rather than the typical four) inventory slots available. When another character is chosen to scavenge, he takes up three inventory slots and can be seen cowering on the floor in fear.

Baby's Strength statistic starts off with a star rating, a higher rating than any other character has in any skill at the start of the game. This is offset by his low intelligence, scoring a 0 at the game start, making him one of only two characters with such a low rating (the other being Emmet Ellis with an equally low rating in the Strength attribute).

Baby has an unspecified criminal background due to his parents' past manipulation. His profile describes the Astrocitizen Program as his "second chance."

Appearance[]

Baby Bronco has pale skin, ginger hair, and a muscly build. He wears a green astronaut suit with yellow gloves, yellow boots, and a turquoise collar. Over time, he'll grow a beard, as well as longer hair.

Background[]

Babybio

Baby Bronco is an adult man, but a very simple-minded one. From a young age, his biggest asset has been his extraordinary physical strength and build. Due to this, Baby was manipulated by his small-time crook parents and became a criminal himself. The Astrocitizen Program was quite literally his escape...and a second chance.

Stats[]

Agility: I (Average)

Intelligence: 0 (Dumb)

Strength: ★ (Mighty)

Boost: Friendly [You can make friends faster. = Crew morale is easy to go up.]

Captain's Goal: Become friends with 3 of your crewmates. (Make friends who will appreciate you.)

Trivia[]

  • Out of all the characters, Baby is given the least amount of time to prepare during Scavenge Mode. He only gets four seconds at most. Though he runs noticeably slower than the others, he also has an extra arm to carry items with.
  • He is one of the best characters to send out on expeditions because of his extraordinary physical strength. It gives him a greater chance of surviving while exploring the outside world.
  • Various situations can occur when Baby Bronco is present in the space shuttle. One of which includes him asking the player if he's a liability or not, claiming his parents said that he always "strong-armed himself into more trouble than he was worth."
    • It is revealed that they abandoned him in jail after he was caught participating in one of their schemes, saying he wasn't even theirs.
  • A more rare situation can appear after he becomes soulmates with the player. It begins with him bashing his forehead against the terminal screen, complaining that he has never been good at reading. He reveals that he had only accidentally joined the Astrocitizen program, explaining that he never did any of the entry tests and actually broke into the place after escaping jail.
  • As a captain, his "Friendly" trait keeps his crewmates from becoming easily insubordinate towards him. (Although it can still happen depending on which decisions you make.)
  • While insane, he is shown sitting awkwardly in his chair with heavily bagged eyes and a crazed smirk, as well as underwear on his head.
  • If the player clicks on his sprite while he's insane, they could either be greeted by a long, drowned-out groan or an evil laugh.
  • There are also specific events that can happen once Baby goes crazy. In one of them, he regresses back to his pre-Astrocitizen criminal days, attempting to steal his crews' own supplies to please his desire for a heist. In another, he believes he became his superhero idol, 'The Soviet Socker', and tries to open the airlock to quote, "swat the bad guys" and "get the girls".
  • If Baby Bronco was chosen as a crew member, died during the run, and you got a good ending, he is represented by ragged teddy bear.
  • In the event with Laika if you are aiming for the heist ending, She reveals that their middle name is Bill.

Message at the ending[]

At the ending, a message about each character will be displayed. The message depends on the morale of the character and whether he is alive or dead.

(Morale, Life or death situation)

(Soulmate, Survived) While neither Baby nor [Captain's name] fully comprehended the nature of their relationship, they both instinctively knew that their fates would be intertwined until the very last star in the universe went out. Or, until one of them got bored.

(Friend, Survived) Captain [Captain's last name] was always kind to Baby, so he stuck around. The gentle giant became [Captain's name]’s trusted sidekick and valiant protector against threats both real and imagined.

(Neutral, Survived) On board the escape shuttle commanded by [Captain's name], Baby finally outran the sense of abandonment that troubled him on Earth. He finally felt he belonged - at least nobody made fun of him on the shuttle. Not all the time, anyway.

(Enemy, Survived) Since Baby considered Captain [Captain's last name] a big meanie, he decided not to waste any more time with him. After packing some soup and his beloved teddy bear, he went off into the distance, never to be seen again.

(Soulmate, Dead) Captain [Captain's last name] was rather devastated that Baby didn’t get to see the end of their journey. I’m not going to point fingers, but… A captain is responsible for his/her crew, after all.

(Friend, Dead) Captain [Captain's last name] was not happy that Baby didn’t get to see the end of their journey. Tough luck. He could have taken better care of crewmate Bronco if he really cared.

(Neutral, Dead) While Baby Bronco didn’t get to share Captain [Captain's last name]’s ultimate triumph, the memory of him lived on. The legend of the giant with the kindest of hearts echoed across the galaxy, shaping future generations of intergalactic adventures (and bodybuilders).

(Enemy, Dead) Captain [Captain's last name] managed to do just fine without crewmate Bronco. [Captain's name] suspected him of being a traitor anyway. He/She was glad to be rid of such a liability. Maybe if he/she had treated him a little better, things would have turned out differently for poor Baby.
